Role purpose

Tonaque Enterprises is seeking an experienced and properly licensed mine blaster to support lawful, safe and disciplined blasting operations at its mining project. The successful candidate must possess the appropriate Zimbabwe mining blasting licence and demonstrate current practical competence.

Core responsibilities

  • Conducting authorised mine blasting activities in accordance with Zimbabwean law and site requirements
  • Maintaining strict control and accountability over explosives issued, used, returned or stored
  • Supporting compliant explosives magazine operations
  • Maintaining accurate blasting and explosives records
  • Performing pre-blast and post-blast safety checks
  • Ensuring appropriate exclusion, access-control and safety procedures are followed
  • Reporting explosives discrepancies or irregularities immediately
  • Working closely with the Mine Site Manager and Tonaque Enterprises management
  • Supporting lawful worker training and blasting discipline where appropriate
  • Cooperating with Ministry of Mines engineers and other authorised regulatory personnel
  • Demonstrating practical blasting competence when required by relevant authorities

Mandatory requirements

  • Appropriate Zimbabwe Mine Blasting Licence, Full Blasting Licence or relevant legally recognised Restricted Blasting Licence
  • Practical mine-blasting experience
  • Strong knowledge of explosives safety and accountability
  • Ability to maintain accurate blasting and explosives records
  • Strong safety and compliance mindset
  • Willingness to work site-based in Mashonaland Central Province

IMAS EOD Level 3 or other explosives-related qualifications are not substitutes for the required Zimbabwe mining blasting licence. All licences and competencies are subject to verification before appointment.
